Yesterday I told you I was completely inspired by this image from Serinissima, a stunning shot of a ferris wheel with an antique air to it. So I took the colors, a brick red, cantaloupe orange and robin's egg blue and created a fun, whimsical vintage carnival wedding. I'm really in love with this, it's great for a couple who just wants to have a good, no... a great time at their wedding.
The wedding party's attire mixes fun childlike prints with sophisticated vintage elements. Polka dots, seersucker and stripes any one? Yes, you can have all three and make it work! Ground these over the top elements with exquisite bridesmaid dresses from Sarah Seven and darling vintage-inspired jewels. We're going for anything but typical here so replace a ring pillow with a bright vintage tin and switch out traditional floral bouquets for pinwheels!
For the reception I've brought in several repeating elements: stripes courtesy of bakers twine and retro straws, carnival stationery like
hand stamped tickets and
ferris wheel save-the-dates and vintage
trays,
containers,
suitcases (pretty much anything you can find). Every table should be different,
completely different. Take one of your collected containers for each table and fill them with carnival elements (like more pinwheels or cotton candy) and brightly hued flowers. Stamped
paper lunch bags make appropriate and adorable favor containers, especially tied with a
manila tag and bakers twine.
