Color Inspiration: A Country Western Wedding

My new found love for country music has spurred a new found love for cowboy boots, line dancing.. well, you get the point. And for those of you die hard country fans out there, there's nothing wrong with a boot scootin' boogie kinda wedding! I've suggested cowboy boots as wedding shoe-wear many a time, and this is certainly an appropriate one. Cover bails of hay in burlap for ceremony seating and use wildflowers for your bouquets. Of course, a reception in a barn is perfecto, and wouldn't it be a dream to have a country band to serenade you? Mason jars for drinks too, don't forget! And, if you want to take the country feel to it's highest level, choose horseshoes for place cards or cowboy hats for favors (fun!). Too much for your big day? Have an all-western rehearsal dinner instead!

Color Inspiration: Nude and Lavender

Today's palette is perfectly light and airy with lavender and a stunning nude (erring on the side of peach). Simple, glowing romance is the theme here with lots of tulle and subtle lavender bouquets. Had to throw in this holy-wow Vera gown, and of course, the perfect pair of nude pumps (which every girl should have, wedding or no wedding!).

Today's Etsy vendor is responsible for the fabity-fab (I can make up words right?) ticking stripe sachets from yesterday's love letter inspiration. And the greatness doesn't end there. Alice's Looking Glass's shop updates almost every day with the most exquisite vintage finds and handmade goodies. Everything from the most fantastic vases, goblets and dishes to vintage recipe cards and one of kind treasures like that napkin ring set and that b-eau-ti-ful pillow! Color Inspiration: Love Letters

It is very rare to receive a true love letter nowadays. Maybe a "love fax," in the words of Carrie Bradshaw? But who wouldn't want to receive a messenger-delivered, handwritten love letter? A girl can dream right? Well, this dream was the inspiration for today's post and I don't think you can find a wedding more inspired by love. I kept it neutral with tan, white and navy and let the romance do the talking.

For the men its simple: navy pants, khaki (or seersucker!) blazer and an adorable little bow tie. Perhaps my favorite find today was this bridesmaid dress- which can be styled in so many different ways. Hello, an actual reusable 'maid gown! Hooray! The "love letter" flower carries a special message and would be fantastic strung on a navy ribbon around the bride's gown. Navy accents, of course, to finish it off!

For seating at your ceremony, turn bails of hay or benches into kraft paper-wrapped boxes (or if you can find this fabric, even better)! Kraft gift boxes work for favors too! Ticking stripe linens and sachets on the chairs and a cake as fantastic as this one! Leave a vintage love letter (yes, you can buy just about everything on Etsy) on each table and a vintage mailbox for guests own letters of love and good wishes. You can even put together a scrapbook of memorabilia, letters and photos from the day you met to the day you wed for guests to flip through during cocktail hour. This wedding really is all about celebrating love. True, undying love.

Color Inspiration: A 1930s Inspired Train Station Affair

There is something so historic and nostalgic about train stations, but they also evoke an air of romance too. Perhaps because these stations were the precursor to the hellos and goodbyes we are accustomed to seeing at airports nowadays? I was immediately inspired to incorporate the 1930s when I decided to do a little train travel theme for todays concept, and the two themes work together seamlessly. The palette is very demure and subtle with an accent of terra cotta reds, a vintage feel and an essence of never-ending love.

Hats. Lots of hats. For the men, the bridesmaids and maybe one with a birdcage veil for the bride. If you don't desire to be the only one in white, put your bridesmaids in creamy colored dresses with gold jewels and simple, single flower bouquets. This is the perfect opportunity to don a true 30's inspired gown. Bright red-orange suitcases make fun, and fitting, props and if you can find a train station, or even just train tracks, for a photo shoot, be sure to take advantage of it!

Train station or not, bring in the train travel feel with your stationery. Luggage tag save the dates, train ticket invitations and please, oh please, use old train slips (like these) for handwritten menus! Stack vintage train cases and photo boxes for guests to fill with good wishes and polaroids from a special photo booth. Find snapshots of different elements of a train station, like this waiting room sign, and use a distinct one to identify each table. Pop simple cream hued tables and flowers with terra cotta napkins and chair finishings and treat your guests to custom leather luggage tag favors!

Etsy Wedding: A Vintage Equestrian Affair

What I'm bringing you today is so totally... completely... unrecognizably different from anything I've done on Notable Inspiration and I'm SO excited about it! I live right across the street from a gorgeous Ralph Lauren store and every time I go in I secretly want to live the RL lifestyle-- specifically that polo-playing, equestrian one. Maybe in my next life? For now I'm living vicariously through this equestrian wedding I created for you all, complete with lots of leather and rich shades of burgundy, emerald and navy.

I just had to look to Sarah Seven again for the bridal attire. Both dresses= To Die For! What about hiding a vintage pair of riding boots underneath those flowing gowns? A dapper groom in a subtle-plaid blazer and bold striped tie and of course a little plaid bow tie for the ring bearer! This vintage leather stud box makes a great stand-in for a ring pillow too! A little nod to the beautiful horses in the accessories and this affair is complete, with the tip of your velvet riding hat!

Here's how I envision the reception: long tables and bench chairs accented with distressed leather pillows. Leather vessels amongst jewel-hued glass jars and a few true equestrian artifacts sprinkled about for a truly authentic feel. To balance out the richness of these colors, some brass candlesticks will stand tall and elegant and for your favors none other then little leather journals (write the menu on the first page for a two-in-one money saver!).

Etsy Wedding: Blush, Champagne and Amber

My apologies for not posting a preview of today's Etsy Wedding yesterday but this one is really worth the wait! I have been so in love with the recent blush and gold trend and decided to take a little twist on it for today's inspiration. The theme here is romance, romance with a whimsical air about it.

I introduced you yesterday to Ouma and this fluffy pink gown really defines the mood of this concept. Flirty blush colored bridesmaid dresses and simple ties for the men, and wouldn't those amber-hued glasses make for fun pictures? Of course, I couldn't leave out a tutu for the flower girl by Lunatique and pastel roses from Your Fairy Tale Wedding for the bouquets. To top it off, the mineral makeup by Pure Natural Minerals, I own myself and it is a great product, economical and perfect for a bridal glow!

My favorite part of this inspiration board is the accent of amber. As you can probably see by now, I adore mixing and matching small vases of different heights to form a dramatic tablescape... and the best part is your guests can actually see each other across the table with arrangements of this style! These amber jars are no exception: combine several jars, bottles and vases and fill them with roses and whimsical ribbon flowers by ffflowers. Hang champagne PartyPoms over the dining area or over your dessert bar for an added layer of drama. Favors could be blush scented soap or jars of root beer apple jelly, or a mix of both! Just remember, romance, romance, romance!

Color Inspiration: Caramel, Taupe and Cream

I am SO excited to share my first Color Inspiration post with you all today! While I have a ton of color inspirations filled with pretty pastels and rich jewel tones, I couldn’t help but create this neutral palette for my first Tuesday post here at Notable Inspiration. This wedding concept is rich in texture with creams, taupes and caramel browns to complement. From the fabric bouquet by Milkpod Studio to the crocheted flower girl dresses, the bridal party at this celebration would remain casual, but chic. Rose and pearl accents for the bride and her maids and simple khaki suits, sans tie, for the men. And of course, my favorite, a ring bearer bowl by Paloma’s Nest to round out a natural wonderland.

The reception is where the textures in this palette really shine. A burlap runner flanked by the most fantastic grapewood arrangements by JL Designs. I absolutely adore the vintage, floral chandelier which would make a great statement over a cream hued dessert bar. Oh, and don’t forget the favors, delicately wrapped with DIY burlap and fabric flowers.

Color Inspiration Preview: Caramel, Taupe and Cream

Sibella Court (see below) served as my inspiration for the first Color Inspiration concept I'm going to share with you! I chose a neutral palette of cream, taupe and muted caramel and spiced it up with an abundance of rich textures like raw oak woods, painted branches, natural burlap and shimmering pearls. Notables: Sibella Court

While scouring my favorite design blogs, I’ve noticed a buzz about an Australian interior stylist named Sibella Court and she’s now one of my biggest sources of inspiration. She’s a self proclaimed hoarder (no, not like the kind you see on A&E) but she’s more like a sophisticated collector who finds inspiration in everything from Parisian art to sharpened pencils. I’ve been working my way through her book Etcetera (HIGHLY recommended!) which features one of a kind displays of her collections in several of her signature 10-colour palettes. The same schemes are featured in her Australian Shop, The Society Inc, which is soon launching an online store! Without further ado, here’s a few samples of her unbelievable creations and my ideas for translating them to unique elements for your wedding!
