Announcing Studio DIY!

It's been nearly a year since I stopped posting on Notable Inspiration to prep for my new adventure, and it's finally (almost!) here! Coming November 1st, 2011 is Studio DIY, a new comprehensive resource for handmade and personalized events! This new curated blog will help brides and party hosts alike craft every event from weddings and baby showers to birthday parties and holiday celebrations with real wedding features, DIY projects, recipes, printables and of course handmade finds and inspiration. Three hand-picked vendor guides will connect you with crafters, craft suppliers and one-of-a-kind crafted gifts and the local events calendar will allow you to interact with other creatives in your community.

Before November 1st rolls around, if you are interested in contributing to Studio DIY or if you are an Etsy (or other) handmade vendor, send along an email to hello{at}studiodiy{dot}com to find out how you can be a part of this new venture! (There's even a free listing option in the vendor guides!) I'm thrilled to announce this venture and looking forward to inspiring, creating and celebrating with you all!

Hello, Remember Me?

{via Pinterest}

Knock knock. Who's there? Clearly, it's not me! It's been quite awhile since I've blogged and, well, its probably time for a little explanation, huh? Well, I can now say that I am officially a college graduate (WOOHOO!) and that my ability to say that is the main reason why the blogging has been MIA these past couple of months!

Now, for the good news. I will be blogging again in the new year! However, I have a few {very super duper awesome} things up my sleeve and Notable Inspiration will be getting moving, changing and expanding. Unfortunately that's all I can say right now and you'll just have to wait a little longer to find out all the fun, new, {hint: crafty} details! In the meantime, you can follow along with a little inspiration on my new favorite inspiration tool, Pinterest. Of course, there's always Twitter too!

I want to send a shout-out to all of you that have continued to check in here on Notable despite my short term disappearance. Happy, Happy New Year to everyone, and be sure to head on back for more updates in 2011!

My Top Picks from New York Bridal Market

October means bridal market and bridal market means a brand spankin' new Vera Wang collection. HA-LE-LU-JAH! And, more recently, Marchesa has developed a new bridal collection that is seriously to die for. My Vera picks are perfect for getting that jaw to drop as you walk down the aisle, and Marchesa provides something a bit more fun and flirty for dancing! Which one is your fave?

As Seen on Etsy: USB Typewriter

I was watching the Maker Faire episode of Martha Stewart yesterday and saw too many awesome inventors to count... and then I saw the inventor of the USB Typewriter. And I am still in awe. Jack Zylkin has turned those awesome vintage typewriters we see in so many wedding shoots lately, into totally function keyboards for your computer or iPad! I am head over heels for his idea of mixing two completely different generations into one awesome product. Holy cow! It is quite the splurge to buy an already converted typewriter, but he also offers converter kits if you or your beau are the DIY techy type! If you can afford to drop the time or cash, what an interesting guestbook this would make! The perfect compromise if you love your vintage finds and your fiance loves anything technological. Sound familiar, anyone?

Etsy Wedding: Whimsical Peacock Blue, Magenta & Vibrant Green

I am so obsessed with deep, dark peacock blue right now. Not the feathers, just that awesome blue color. Aside from it being the perfect color for my future dining room walls, it makes a great base for a wedding, especially when paired with a magenta or raspberry pink (a.k.a. my future dining room chairs) and maybe a little green too. I felt a little whimsical when creating this palette, the flower wands, mismatched tags and those oh so awesome flower books for centerpieces! I love the idea of a colored crinoline peaking out from under a bride's dress, don't you? And those little dollops of heaven in the bottom right corner? Key lime white chocolate clouds. Mhmm, I think dessert is calling my name!
