Fall has sprung here quite suddenly and now that it's October, I figured it was about time to post a little autumn inspiration. Today's palette combines punches of pumpkin and pops of another great fall hue... eggplant. I about flipped when I saw the pumpkin as a soup bowl idea in my Martha wedding emails! How awesomely October, no? Long tables with burlap runners, loads of candles and purple hued flowers... perhaps a few mini pumpkins in there too! Vintage sodas in perfect season colors and garlands of leaves to frame a photobooth. For favors? I would love to see mini pumpkins with simple pumpkin carving kits.. how fun is that!?
Bringing you a Tuesday Notables post today because I just couldn't resist talking about the fun and youthful decor option that balloons bring to the table! They make a great backdrop for a dessert table, perfect eye-lifting centerpiece accents, fun photo props and just great motifs overall! I always love when weddings stay fun, friendly and down-to-earth and balloons provide the perfect accompaniment!
Inspired by yesterday's As Seen on Etsy feature, I'm going for bold, graphic black and white prints as today's jumping off point. Isn't that black & white chevron flower girl dress to die for!? Mix up bold stripes, houndstooth and anything else eye-popping for your vases. Or, just buy plain white ones and paint your own patterns on them! Since we're prepping for fall, I thought this wedding was perfect for a slight apple motif, perhaps in your centerpieces, or just as your place cards and cake topper. Don't forget bright red flowers and modern cupcake toppers to seal the deal! (Yes, I did suggest a cake topper and cupcake toppers... there's nothing wrong with both!)
I am not usually one to like wreathes, but I saw these by Knock.Knocking and now I'm a changed girl! Not your traditional wreath, and certainly not a typical wedding item... I had to do a post on these as a great option for a shower gift or even a little something extra on the doors of your ceremony or reception site! I'm head over heels for the striped ones and the colors are almost too much for me to handle! They are just so fantastic! A little eye candy for your door!
I have pink on my mind today. Largely due to the fact that my cousin is engaged as of yesterday (Insert screams and squeals here!) and, well, she has a bit of an obsession with pink! So, low and behold... a modern pink and gray wedding. J. Crew came through with an wow-oh-wow gray bridesmaid dress (Aren't you in love with it??). Pretty pink peonies or carnations with gray linens, and little pops of hot pink... like in straws for mini milkshakes, or decor for your dessert bar. I love the simple DIY-style chair accent... how easy and cute would that be for an extra little touch!? A touch of romance and a whole lot of modern, perfect for any season, no? Love!
When I say book week, something has to be from that romantic, Victorian era that I lust after. And while most turn to Pride & Prejudice or something of that fantastic sort... I wanted to take a little turn toward the darker, gothic era with this one. Enter Jane Eyre. Such a dynamic, twisted classic that, well, doesn't really scream wedding, but certainly makes a beautiful one if you're willing to take the risk. Think romantic tea party with a dark side. And, luckily, I could count on my trusted Etsy vendors to provide the rest...
In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines, lived twelve little girls in two straight lines. Now... you can't tell me that doesn't bring back fond memories? If you're liked me you loved all things Madeline (Hey, I even had a fantastic Madeline themed birthday one year!) and, if you've been hanging around Notable for awhile, you'll know I am an advocate for keeping your childhood loves alive and kicking long past those years of innocence. Madeline's mix of youthfulness and innocence against a backdrop of Parisian romance makes quite the jumping off point for a wedding... and here we go!

Oh boy, are you all in for an exciting week! I've been wanting to do a book-inspired wedding week for a very long time and it's finally time to share the literary love! Today we're going to start off with some book-inspired decor and the rest of the week I'll be bringing you some inspiration based on some of my very favorite books... everything from Madeline to Jane Eyre! And, if all goes well... Thursday I am going to have an extra special bonus surprise for everyone!
It's that time of year... ya know, when we make that transition into fall. It's kind of bittersweet because while I hate saying bye to the warm weather and hello to the cold, I do love the opportunity to wear boots again! Today's Etsy wedding bridges the gap between those beautiful, romantic summery shades (like peach in this case) and those browns and greens you only find when fall comes around. Perfect for early September weddings, pair beautiful peach colored blooms and summery accessories with acorn accented elements like cupcake toppers and a nest-like ring bearer bowl! Incorporate branches into your centerpieces and if you can, say your I do's outdoors, preferably under a canopy of trees draped in garlands with leaves just waiting to jump right into their fall glory!
A little inspiration from the sky and the sun today... since I'll be missing endless days of sunshine when I head back to the east coast's not-so-perfect-weather next week. Since this was in fact inspired by the sky, I added a bird motif for a little whimsical fun. Gotta go with one of my favorites... yellow billy balls for florals, in aqua vases (spray paint always works to turn all sorts of vases into a uniform set!). Sweet cake stands to hold your mini-bunting adorned desserts and graphic stationery for a modern touch. For favors give those awesome blank notebooks... and even customized pencils if you'd like! Ahhh there's nothing better than blue skies and sunshine!
Can you handle all those foodie colors in one? Guess I have food on the brain this week, first salmon & eggplant and now a little fun with lemony yellow! Pair that color with a bright, bright pink for quite the eye-popping summer palette. I've toned it down with subtle nods to pistachio and hazelnut hues... like in the flower girl dress and fab garland. Lemonade or lemon drops for drinks and yummy lollipops for dessert too! Have fun with prints for summer weddings and print your table numbers on printed paper, framed in hot pink frames. There's nothing wrong with grown-up streamers, especially as chair decor! Choose lemons or hot pink peonies (or both!) for your centerpieces and that's a wrap!
After a very fun and relaxing birthday celebration, I'm back with one of my current favorite patterns... Chevron! I have a few Chevron projects planned for my apartment (DIY chevron rug anyone? Don't worry, I'll post pictures!) and the fabulousness of chevron certainly doesn't need to stop at my front door. Chevron is fantastic for weddings, too! Let's see, I guess you could call it a spiced up version of classic stripes, perfect for invitation motifs, placecard displays or any (and all) of your linens! Color options are endless too, just the way I like it!
Since I took a little blogging break on Tuesday, I'm going to bring you a special inspiration board today inspired by the crisp & clean interior below! I love the gray and red color palette, so different and unexpected for a summer wedding! The stripe element is great to play off of for everything from the cake to the bridesmaid attire!
Last week I brought you pretty pretty letterpress and this week I'm bringing you... letterpress block letters? You heard right, the blocks used to make the letterpress style I so adore are actually quite fabulous on their own! MonkiVintage has an enormous selection of vintage letterpress blocks that can so easily be turned into stamps, and more! They sell them in sets of the same letter in multiple fonts, perfect for a fun way to display your initial(s) throughout your day! Stamp them on menu cards or stamp a different font on each page of your guest book. You could even provide an alphabet of blocks and have each guest stamp their initial on a large canvas, whatever which way they please and in whatever color they please, making a totally awesome art piece! I also love the blocks as decor all on their own. If you don't mind the letters being backwards, they would be so fantastically incorporated into your centerpieces! Buy a set of number letterpress blocks and use them to identify your tables too!
