Etsy Wedding: Whimsical Peacock Blue, Magenta & Vibrant Green

I am so obsessed with deep, dark peacock blue right now. Not the feathers, just that awesome blue color. Aside from it being the perfect color for my future dining room walls, it makes a great base for a wedding, especially when paired with a magenta or raspberry pink (a.k.a. my future dining room chairs) and maybe a little green too. I felt a little whimsical when creating this palette, the flower wands, mismatched tags and those oh so awesome flower books for centerpieces! I love the idea of a colored crinoline peaking out from under a bride's dress, don't you? And those little dollops of heaven in the bottom right corner? Key lime white chocolate clouds. Mhmm, I think dessert is calling my name!

Color Inspiration: A Fall Wedding with Pumpkins & Eggplant

Fall has sprung here quite suddenly and now that it's October, I figured it was about time to post a little autumn inspiration. Today's palette combines punches of pumpkin and pops of another great fall hue... eggplant. I about flipped when I saw the pumpkin as a soup bowl idea in my Martha wedding emails! How awesomely October, no? Long tables with burlap runners, loads of candles and purple hued flowers... perhaps a few mini pumpkins in there too! Vintage sodas in perfect season colors and garlands of leaves to frame a photobooth. For favors? I would love to see mini pumpkins with simple pumpkin carving kits.. how fun is that!?

Etsy Wedding: Bold Black & White with Pops of Color

Inspired by yesterday's As Seen on Etsy feature, I'm going for bold, graphic black and white prints as today's jumping off point. Isn't that black & white chevron flower girl dress to die for!? Mix up bold stripes, houndstooth and anything else eye-popping for your vases. Or, just buy plain white ones and paint your own patterns on them! Since we're prepping for fall, I thought this wedding was perfect for a slight apple motif, perhaps in your centerpieces, or just as your place cards and cake topper. Don't forget bright red flowers and modern cupcake toppers to seal the deal! (Yes, I did suggest a cake topper and cupcake toppers... there's nothing wrong with both!)

Etsy Wedding {Book Week}: Dark Romance from Jane Eyre

When I say book week, something has to be from that romantic, Victorian era that I lust after. And while most turn to Pride & Prejudice or something of that fantastic sort... I wanted to take a little turn toward the darker, gothic era with this one. Enter Jane Eyre. Such a dynamic, twisted classic that, well, doesn't really scream wedding, but certainly makes a beautiful one if you're willing to take the risk. Think romantic tea party with a dark side. And, luckily, I could count on my trusted Etsy vendors to provide the rest...

Dark charcoals and deep roses with a hint of victorian lace and that green you only picture when you envision this distinct era. I have no problem seeing a bouquet of delicate dried flowers (This can be done with appropriate treatment!), or at least dried petals for the flower girl to throw. Antiqued gold jewelry and lace cuffs complement a stunning and functional cape for those winter weddings! Perhaps a little monogram green cufflinks for the men?

It's that time of year... ya know, when we make that transition into fall. It's kind of bittersweet because while I hate saying bye to the warm weather and hello to the cold, I do love the opportunity to wear boots again! Today's Etsy wedding bridges the gap between those beautiful, romantic summery shades (like peach in this case) and those browns and greens you only find when fall comes around. Perfect for early September weddings, pair beautiful peach colored blooms and summery accessories with acorn accented elements like cupcake toppers and a nest-like ring bearer bowl! Incorporate branches into your centerpieces and if you can, say your I do's outdoors, preferably under a canopy of trees draped in garlands with leaves just waiting to jump right into their fall glory!

Etsy Wedding: Victorian Romance in Seafoam and Beige

The Victorian, romantic style can be over-the-top luxurious (Versailles, anyone?) or subtle and demure. Today, I took the latter route with a seafoam green and beige palette, complete with cameos, gold accents and even a few feathers. Typically, I would think of roses in conjunction with Victorian style, but why not do the unexpected with baby's breath bouquets instead? How about those passport (to Paris?) invitations and that statement necklace? And that cupcake you see... its actually vegan soap, think favors, favors, favors!

Etsy Wedding: Lemon & Hot Pink with Hints of Pistachio & Hazelnut

Can you handle all those foodie colors in one? Guess I have food on the brain this week, first salmon & eggplant and now a little fun with lemony yellow! Pair that color with a bright, bright pink for quite the eye-popping summer palette. I've toned it down with subtle nods to pistachio and hazelnut hues... like in the flower girl dress and fab garland. Lemonade or lemon drops for drinks and yummy lollipops for dessert too! Have fun with prints for summer weddings and print your table numbers on printed paper, framed in hot pink frames. There's nothing wrong with grown-up streamers, especially as chair decor! Choose lemons or hot pink peonies (or both!) for your centerpieces and that's a wrap!

Color Inspiration: Salmon, Eggplant & Chartreuse

We see lots of pinks, corals and peaches in weddings, but what about a slightly different hue... like salmon? This color is so interesting paired with anything from navy to aqua to eggplant and chartreuse, like I've done here. This palette really pops with a little bit of retro flair. Vintage dresses with chartreuse sashes, Izze drinks for your guests and hand painted signs to start. I love those charming, sculptural centerpieces (why not build them from spray painted milkshake glasses?), especially interspersed with vibrant chartreuse votive holders. Outside? Complete this peppy, retro occasion with twinkle lights galore!

Etsy Bridal Shower: Flirty, Sweet and Good Enough to Eat!

It's time for me to admit... I have a little bit of a sweet tooth. Ok, a really big sweet tooth. I'm that girl that lives for dessert and I can't help but be inspired by all the delectable goodies I drool over daily. Come on, I know I'm not alone here, right? And today's sweet treat of choice... candy! Classic and cute, a pastel-hued candy shoppe would make a bridal shower that's, well, good enough to eat!

The best thing about candy is that you can totally decorate with it too! Take a cue from this unbelievable snapshot and fill glass jars with treats in all sorts of flirty colors. These act perfectly as centerpieces with on top a polka dotted tablecloth! This is the perfect time to use ribbon and garlands for your decor, tie a slue of pretty colors on the back of each chair or around place settings (or both!). If you're having an intimate shower with your closest friends, have each bring their favorite classic candy or treat (enough for all the guests) and set up a very personal candy bar for everyone to share! Provide these perfect bags so guests can take over the leftovers, too!

My favorite marketplace has done it again, with Etsy vendor, The Succulent Garden, who has the most fantastic succulent collection! Succulents make perfect potted centerpieces that you can keep long after you say "I do." One of my favorite ways to incorporate them, though, is to have a pot your own succulent station for favors! Provide a selection of these beautiful succulents and pots and allow guests to pick and choose as they please for a beautiful favor!

Color Inspiration: Kelly Green & Summer White {PLUS A few special announcements!}

I have a new love in my life... Imperial Trellis fabric! It really sealed the deal when I saw the beautiful print on this chair, which inspired today's kelly green and summery white wedding! One part modern and one part fresh, we're taking a turn today on Notable for a crisp and clean summer affair!

You can't be afraid of going BRIGHT for this bridal party concept. Kate Spade provided the perfect bridesmaid dress and I think these kelly green shoes would be so fun hidden under the brides gown. A different green & white boutonniere for each groomsmen and bouquets of pretty peonies for the girls. The print of this bow tie complements the trellis fabric perfectly!

Etsy Wedding: A Picnic of Prints

Memorial Day is coming up this weekend and that signals the unofficial kickoff of summer (even though I've been dreaming of summer here on Notable for a few weeks now!). There's nothing I think of more when it comes to Memorial Day than a great barbeque and down-home picnic and Etsy has all the supplies you'll need to turn one of these picnics into an adorable backyard wedding.

If you've been following for awhile, you'll know that mixing patterns will never go out of style in my mind and today's wedding inspiration is no exception! From the intricate weave of that picnic-turned-flower basket to the polka dot dress and floral print headband. I'd love to see flowers that look as if they'd just been picked from a field in a bouquet with a simple ribbon and this fork and knife print tie is just too good to pass up for a picnic affair!

Color Inspiration: Artichokes, Herbs and a Hint of Copper

As promised,  a little edible inspiration today in the form of artichokes & herbs. A summer garden turned wedding? That is the goal! A palette of pure white and leafy green, and a bit of copper (which I am totally in love with right now).

I almost dropped dead when I saw this artichoke bouquet, it is so utterly fantastic. Pair it with gorgeous green bridesmaid dresses and herb boutonnieres. Reception tables swathed in white with copper dyed burlap runners and florals accented with artichokes. Use copper garden markers to identify tables (one herb per table), and tiny potted herbs as place cards turned favors!

Etsy Wedding: Green Glass, Pale Pink & Shiny Silver

In need of inspiration... for anything? Go to a flea market. This is not a new source of inspiration to many, but it is one that should be required for anyone looking to be inspired. In fact, it's what inspired both wedding palettes this week. This time: green glass bottles. They are so bright and bold. After some thought, I decided to go with a classic pink & green scheme, something I'm not usually fond of. But what you pick the right shades, oh wow is it awesome! Pale pink, vibrant green and a little elegant silver. Yum.

What's more perfect than pink roses? A little here a little there, I adore this dress for your maids and this little headband for your girls! This serving dish is perfectly upcycled into a flower girl basket too, with a little green glass in the jewelry to match. Finish off your look with some flashy (in a good way) silver flats!

 I would love to see juliet roses in this palette-- one stem per fabulous green bottle. Serve delicious sorbet in beautiful silver goblets and drape the tables with vintage fabric- pink florals of course! If printed tables are just too much, reserve the fabric for the chairs: full covers, tie backs, anything! And why not make a mosaic guest book out of broken up vintage china? There's two ways to do this. If your guests are willing to get a little messy, you can have them each place a few tiles on a large slab (provide directions calligraphed on pretty paper and delegate one of your bridesmaids to help). Prefer to keep things clean? Assemble it yourself! Place the tiles in any desired pattern, a large tile art piece, a mirror or a frame and have your guests sign on or around it! Gotta get creative with guest books these days!

Color Inspiration: Vibrant Hues & Antique Gold

When I was flea market-ing this weekend I saw a ton of antique gold vanity mirrors and ornate gold frames. I wanted them all (not practical...) and thought they would be such amazing decor for a wedding. But what to pair them with? Then I saw this unbelievable flowered wall on Oh Joy! and well, the rest is history. Everyone meet fresh, vibrant flowers and ornate, antique gold!

Every bridesmaid must wear a different color. Each with different color flats, and each with a bouquet of another color. See the pattern here? The bride can don a little Lanvin and a bouquet that combines all the maids flowers. For the boutonnieres, I think a few petals pinned to the suit from all different flowers would be divine. Pop the vibrant colors with gold jewelry and trimmings!

The reception is where all the ornate, antique gold is really the star. See the mantle of flowers in glass vessels? Transport that directly to long tables and intersperse standing gold mirrors to add some welcomed drama. If your venue allows, I would just die to see flowers hanging from above alongside golden ribbon and vintage lighting. And why not bring the vibrant effect to your drinks, with flower ice cubes. How. Cute. This is the perfect wedding for gifting your guests with bags of flower seeds to plant in their own gardens. Tie a vintage gold charm on each packet for good luck!

Etsy Wedding: A Country Brunch

I don't know about you, but brunch is without a doubt my favorite meal. Ever. In fact, I would only eat brunch (Ok, really breakfast but brunch makes it acceptable after noon) if I could. I know there's traditionally a day-after brunch during your wedding weekend, but I'm all about non-traditional here right? So why not a wedding brunch? Preferably set in the backyard of a quaint cottage for an intimate country affair.

For this country brunch, I suggest a palette of pretty purples and leafy greens with floral prints and wicker accents. Purple floral dresses for the 'maids and green accents for the men. A wicker basket for your rings and a fabulously textured bouquet.

Bring in more wicker baskets for your floral arrangements, which should be filled with all sorts of purple pretties (Think lilac, hydrangea.. delicate but impactful). I was inspired by this ribbon, featured in yesterday's post, and think it would be for accenting, well, everything. Choose benches that look like they came right of the front porch of a Southern mansion. And now for the food. How about a sophisticated cereal bar? Yes, I just said that. Think granola and other organic mixes and supplement with milk in wicker covered bottles and greek yogurt. A wide selection of tea, it even matches the palette, and of course brunch staples like pancakes and waffles with wonderful fresh made jams. Not to forget the lunch part, offer simple salads and light mid-day appropriate dishes.

Color Inspiration: Mary Poppins

There's been a lot of Alice fever going around lately and I think its time another Disney classic got a little attention. A Disney classic by the name of Mary Poppins instantly came to mind. From the outstanding Julie Andrews (Can I come back as her in my next life?) to the more recent run on Broadway, this high flying nanny provides a little inspiration for a big, I-wish-I-never-grew-up kinda wedding. The recipe for this affair: one part tea party on the ceiling, one part carousel come to life and two teaspoons of sugar.

The theme here is clearly not matchy-matchy. Rather it's all about crazy colors and a little bit of black and white for good measure. Now I know this flower girl ensemble is a teeny bit literal (OK, a lot literal) but really, how could I resist? For the rest of the wedding party, take the "pop" of that infamous red and white striped jacket and turn it into trim for your florals. Replace flower girl baskets with teacups, of course and a vintage carousel necklace for the bride. Saving the best part for last, you must buy this blazer for a prop in your photos. Look closely (click the image to make it larger!) and it has a famous saying from Ms. Poppins.

If I don't get invited to a reception like this at some point in my life, I may be a little upset. It is just so FUN. The whole Mary Poppins inspiration began from this umbrella image that I almost dropped dead over. Take a cue from it and hang umbrellas over your tables. Replace vases with teacups and sugar jars and turn pixie stix (a stick-full of sugar?) into flower stems. Monogram the teacups to spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious for an extra special touch. If you can find a venue with an old carousel, just some horses plucked from one or even simply some stationery with these magical ponies on it, you are all set. Finish off your whimsical, storybook affair with a Barberhsop Quartet and a few beautiful park-like benches.

Etsy Wedding: A Vintage Equestrian Affair

What I'm bringing you today is so totally... completely... unrecognizably different from anything I've done on Notable Inspiration and I'm SO excited about it! I live right across the street from a gorgeous Ralph Lauren store and every time I go in I secretly want to live the RL lifestyle-- specifically that polo-playing, equestrian one. Maybe in my next life? For now I'm living vicariously through this equestrian wedding I created for you all, complete with lots of leather and rich shades of burgundy, emerald and navy.

I just had to look to Sarah Seven again for the bridal attire. Both dresses= To Die For! What about hiding a vintage pair of riding boots underneath those flowing gowns? A dapper groom in a subtle-plaid blazer and bold striped tie and of course a little plaid bow tie for the ring bearer! This vintage leather stud box makes a great stand-in for a ring pillow too! A little nod to the beautiful horses in the accessories and this affair is complete, with the tip of your velvet riding hat!

Here's how I envision the reception: long tables and bench chairs accented with distressed leather pillows. Leather vessels amongst jewel-hued glass jars and a few true equestrian artifacts sprinkled about for a truly authentic feel. To balance out the richness of these colors, some brass candlesticks will stand tall and elegant and for your favors none other then little leather journals (write the menu on the first page for a two-in-one money saver!).

Color Inspiration: Kelly Green, Buttercup Yellow & Navy Blue

Feeling lucky after yesterday's post? Well I'm continuing the Irish theme with today's color inspiration so you really are in luck! And with this one, even if you're not Irish you can still be inspired, I promise! Now, I've never been to Ireland but am always told of the unexpected colors you find on the buildings lining the storybook streets. So that was my cue for this kelly green, buttercup yellow and navy blue wedding concept.

Despite Ireland's reputation for cloud cover and rainy days, I tried to bring some sunshine into this palette (but I threw in a polka dot umbrella for good measure!). Sunny yellow dresses and dapper bow ties with an adorable floral number for a petite flower girl. If you're feeling daring, and the season is appropriate, go for seersucker suits (they are my absolute favorite!) too. I chose baby's breath for the bouquets, but only baby's breath... keeping it simple but adding a delicate texture.

Aren't the polka dot invitations darling? I told you, we're going for sunshiny bright like the buildings (not the weather!). White ruffly table cloths and a DIY ribbon chandelier contrasted with vintage lunch boxes and tackle boxes spilling over with more baby's breath. For favors, hand out tiny blooms (or bulbs) accented with a special thank you message calligraphed on these beautiful blue paper leaves.

Why not frame images of these unbelievably hued buildings to display at your reception (table numbers anyone?). If you're like me, this is a great way to subtly weave inspiration from your culture into your wedding. A little less literal then bottles of Guinness or orange & green flags, no? And it's even more unexpected!

Etsy Wedding: Wasabi Green, Orange Peel, Smokey Gray and Black Onyx

It's been a little dreary around the country lately, even sunny LA is getting pelted with rain! So I figured I'd brighten up everyone's day a little with this Etsy Wedding's bold color palette. I've always been intrigued by an orange and green color palette, and I balanced this one with neutral gray and a smidgen of black. The bridal party attire is simple, like the adorable charcoal flower girl dress from FaithWorks4U, but accented with bold accessories. I love the use of pheasant and guinea feathers in weddings and found some fantastic vendors offering hair pieces, boutonnieres and bouquets incorporating them (in bright orange and wasabi green no less!).

The reception concept I designed leans towards a different part of nature- using branches and leaves in the decor to add rich texture to the simple bridal attire. The vintage instrument case would make a great backdrop for a cake display, or allow guests to write one-line wishes on tiny notecards to toss into it. And, to top it all off, the brittle pictured isn't any ordinary treat- it's Bon Bon Brittle's green tea brittle! Great color and a unique concept makes for a perfect favor!
