Etsy Wedding: Lavender, Raspberry and Navy

I have been seeing a lot of lavender out in the wedding web world lately and I'm really loving it for bouquets and decor... so this Etsy wedding is inspired by this fragrant, flowering plant. I paired a blue-lavender with a deep raspberry and dark navy for a palette that could work from winter into spring. The colors would be stunning against a snowy backdrop and divine amongst a springy outdoor venue.

Flowering Tree Botanical's dried lavender branches make magnificent bouquets, wrapped simply in a raspberry colored bow. Casual bow ties for the men, like these from Dolly Knits, and ruffled bridesmaid dresses bring in more of this rich color, while navy accessories complement and enrich this non-traditional palette. My favorite part is my take on a ring pillow alternative... a simple white bowl filled with loose lavender tea with the rings delicately placed on top.

This reception isn't typical and does not have hundreds of fresh blooms spilling over the tables, but rather an enormous amount of dried flowering plants... more lavender of course, as well as maroon buds and tall grass. The addition of berries would be beautiful for the winter take on this. Allow guests to pin their well wishes to this wine cork board for a unique guest book. For their favors, package small sachets of this lavender seasoning, perfect for spicing up a meal post-attendance. Like in the bridal party, use navy accents for your place cards, linens and even decorative books.

  2. It is so cool seeing lavender "taken back" from its fluffy bunny history and paired with all these exciting, bold colors.
